About
The bladder and intestines can be difficult to access because they're well protected by the structure of the body and their positioning in the abdominal cavity. It makes sense. These vital organs aren't meant to be on display. They are meant to be well cushioned and guarded from potential damage from the external world. Because of this need for protection, working these territories can be difficult without the proper instruction. I created this course as a way to make working the bladder and intestines more accessible to manual therapy practitioners just like you. In this course, we will: Discuss basic anatomy and functions of the bladder and intestines Discuss indications and contraindications for working the bladder and intestines Demonstrate how to use the Morales Method® Concepts of Palpation to create unique sessions that are tailored to the needs of each individual client Hear feedback from the model, Caroline, about how it feels to receive this work as a client Demonstrate manual therapy techniques for palpating and working the following territories: The bladder The ascending, descending, and sigmoid colon The mesentery, a rarely discussed organ that connects the intestines to the posterior abdominal wall And you will gain 2 hours of credit toward our online Morales Method® Pain Specialist Certification. This course focuses its instruction on how to palpate and connect with layers of tissue that are deep inside the body. This work requires you to hone your listening and palpation skills to an expert level that will ultimately improve all your skills as a manual therapist!
