Day 1 - Advanced Neck Work and Spinal Mechanics
Saturday, November 9, 2019 (9am-6pm)
Instructor: Marty Morales & Julie Gudaitis, CMT, MMASI
Learn to evaluate the cervical spine in a streamlined, efficient manner and pair findings with manual therapy techniques.
Techniques will be influenced by the Stages of Motor Development in babies in order to take advantage of our innate neuro motor patterns to help with rotated vertebrae.
Day 2 - Advanced Neck Range of Motion Evaluation

Instructor: Marty Morales, Certified Advanced Rolfer™, Julie Gudaitis, CMT, MMASI
Learn to effectively perform cervical spine evaluation and passive techniques for the atlas and A/O junction to drastically improve neck range of motion and bring about pain relief.
In addition, both Directional Resistance and Directional Ease methods will be taught in order to increase effectiveness.

Learning Objectives: Learn to evaluate possible Cervical Spine dysfunction in a streamlined, efficient manner and pair findings with manual therapy techniques to help relieve neck pain in clients. This workshop gives the skills to: Quickly identify tight tissue, rotated vertebrae, and pair the the best manual therapy techniques and range of motion techniques to get the best outcome.
Program Learning Objectives:

Understand the Morales Method Order of Complexity and the concepts of Directional Resistance and Directional Ease.

Palpate Directional Resistance and Directional Ease in neck tissue.

Learn to palpate for rotated vertebrae.

Learn range of motion techniques to help with rotated vertebrae and bring about pain relief and greater range of motion.

Day 2 - Advanced Neck Range of Motion - The Atlas
Sunday, November 10, 2019 (9am-6pm)

Learning Objectives: To effectively perform cervical spine evaluation and range of motion techniques to provide pain relief to patients’ necks as it relates to the atlas bone. This workshop gives the skills to: Quickly identify neck range of motion issues in the Atlas bone and use range of motion techniques in an effective way to provide clients maximum benefit within the shortest time frame.
Program Learning Objectives:
1. List Fryette’s Laws of spinal mechanics of the cervical spine.
2. Develop an assessment protocol to establish range of motion limitations in the atlas.
3. Differentiate between tight and loose suboccipital tissue in the neck.
4. Recommend range of motion movements to decrease movement restrictions.
5. Decide best course of action when presented with symptoms pertaining to certain common injuries and conditions (whiplash, etc.).
